| Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I managed to steal a moment with Susan, one of my favorite authors, before she got mobbed by fans. | Lucy Abarcia. It's great reconnecting with faraway friends. Lucy is owner of Australia's Ever After Books and my RWA BFF (see pix from '08, below)! |

| Deb Marlow and Shirley Marks. Great writers who I'm lucky enough to come between alphabetically! | Ana Maria Colom. A friend and fan. I love conferences just because they bring us together! |

| Michelle Obama. OK, so maybe not the real lady herself. But here's a glimpse of two Michelles side by side. | President Obama. This was real. I was sightseeing outside the White House when Marine One landed on the White House lawn. |

| Gwen and Mindy from Fresh Fiction. Romance reviewers are so much fun to hang out with! | Faye Michaels. This irrepressible lady from Fresh Fiction knows how to cut a rug! |
Just for fun
Look for GENTLEMEN BEHAVING BADLY in this Today Show segment.
Romance Writers of America Conference 2008
The RWA National Conference in San Francisco was tons of fun. Not only did I get to meet some of my favorite authors (see pictures below), but I got to talk with some readers as well. This is the best part of attending conferences, because apart from exchanging emails with them, I rarely get to talk to readers face to face. There was one glorious moment when I happened to be within earshot when a woman was recommending When a Lady Misbehaves to her friend. THAT was a wonderful feeling, and she instantly became by BFF.
I also learned a lot, such as how to make a video trailer. So if you like the trailer to Gentlemen Behaving Badly, I made it. If you don't, somebody else did. :)
| Sabrina Jeffries. Love her! I was able to have a really nice chat with her and she is such a sweetie! I adore every word she puts on paper. | Stephanie Laurens. What a thrill. I love her Regency novels. Didn't get much of a chance to talk to her...her fans stampeded over me. |

| Lisa Kleypas. Need I say more? I'm such a huge fan. See the dorky look on my face? | Julia Quinn. I've read so many of her books, it was such a surprise to meet her and discover how young she really is. Her books are an inspiration. |
| Deb Marlowe. We met when my big butt bumped into her. It was destiny...we "ended" up seatmates at the book signing. | Vicki Lewis Thompson. With 92 published books, all writers must stand in awe. She was the recipient of RWA's 2008 Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award. |
| Lucy Abarcia, my new BFF. She's a bookstore owner in Australia who I caught recommending my book to her friend. | Adrienne Miller, another of my readers. It's so nice to hear from people that they appreciate your work. A big "mwaa" to her! |
| Faye, Gwen, Tanzey, Mindy, and all the fun ladies from Fresh Fiction, showed me a rollicking good time at the parties. In my next career, I want to work for them! | |

When a Lady Misbehaves Launch Party & Signing
Books & Books, Bal Harbour, FL
The book launch for WALM was great fun. I may have been a little nervous at the outset, but the people there were warm and as enthusiastic as I was. Then again, it may have been the wine and cheese that loosened us all up!
I spoke a little on why I thought bad girls make great heroines, and then I read a short portion of the excerpt I posted on my website. The book sold out within an hour (the second time it's happened in that store's history). Finally, we had a drawing for the WALM Pleasure Basket. Even though everyone took home a little something, I think I was the luckiest one of all because I will never forget the experience of meeting so many wonderful people.
